The aim of the report was to create a Precinct Plan that develops a vision for the future use and development of the Geelong Saleyards. The closure of the Saleyards and departure of Target retail business headquarters presented an opportunity for the City to conisder what best use of this land should be. Council supported a mixed-use development with a focus on housing that created a diverse environment which paralleled the cities planning policies.
