Perched above the harbour, Lochranza (Category 2) is a cherished piece of Lyttelton’s architectural story. Common Ground led its restoration with a light but deliberate hand — carefully retaining original timber detailing, proportions, and patina while strengthening and upgrading the home for contemporary life. The project balances memory and momentum: protecting the craftsmanship and character that anchor the house to place, while quietly embedding resilience and performance beneath the surface. Lochranza House now stands renewed — not altered, but enduring — continuing to shape Lyttelton’s streetscape for generations to come.
